What is osFAQ.org?
osFAQ.org is a community-maintained knowledge base for osTicket, the popular open-source helpdesk and ticketing system used by organisations of all sizes around the world.
We collect, verify, and organise real-world questions and answers from the osTicket community, making them quick and easy to find through a searchable, version-aware database. We also publish step-by-step HowTo guides covering installation, configuration, and common integrations, plus a directory of community-built plugins.
Why does this site exist?
The official osTicket community forum has accumulated thousands of answered threads over many years. That knowledge is genuinely invaluable, but it can be hard to search, answers are often buried deep in long threads, and there is no easy way to filter by osTicket version, PHP version, or operating system.
osFAQ.org was built to solve that problem. We extract the best answers from those community threads, attribute them properly, and present them in a format designed for quick scanning, searching, and linking. Think of us as a curated index of the community's collective wisdom, not a replacement for it.
Attribution & Disclaimer
The FAQ content on this site is sourced from the osTicket community forum and is attributed to the original authors wherever possible. We are deeply grateful to every person who has ever posted a question, a fix, or a workaround there. This site would not exist without their contributions.
osFAQ.org is an independent community project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to osTicket or Enhancesoft in any way. For official support, documentation, and releases, please visit docs.osticket.com and the official forum.
While we do our best to keep information accurate and up to date, osTicket evolves quickly. Always cross-reference important configuration changes against the official documentation for your specific version.
Who runs osFAQ.org?
osFAQ.org is built and maintained by ntozier, a long-time member of the osTicket community. Having spent years helping people on the forum and watching the same questions come up again and again, the goal was simple: give those answers a permanent, searchable home.
This is a community labour of love, not a commercial venture. The site is free to use, the core FAQ content will always be free to read, and community contributions are always welcome.
