Collaborator autocomplete search does nothing when agents try to add collaborators to tickets -- no results appear.
Check all logs (server, webserver, PHP, MySQL, osTicket System Logs, browser console) for AJAX or fatal errors. In this specific case the issue was caused by an old LDAP plugin that was conflicting with the user lookup. Disabling the legacy LDAP plugin resolved it.
